Oilden Energies Limited, a lubricant producer, has announced the launch of its brand and the unveiling of a new subsidiary on August 15, 2025, in what it described as a “landmark moment” in its journey to shape Nigeria’s industrial and energy future.
Oluwatoni Oladiran, Group Chairman, speaking at a press briefing in Lagos on Monday, said the event would be “a celebration of our heritage, our capabilities, and our determination to play a defining role in shaping Nigeria’s — and Africa’s — industrial and energy future.”
The chairman described Oilden as “proudly 100 per cent Nigerian-owned,” with a mission to deliver petroleum services of the highest quality — onshore and offshore — and provide world-class products at competitive prices for both domestic and international markets.
Oladiran said, “Our vision is ambitious yet achievable: to be Africa’s leading lubricants supplier and to rank among the top 30 globally by 2030.” Citing market data, Oladiran noted that Africa’s lubricants market is valued at $4.2bn annually, with Nigeria alone consuming over 600 million liters. According to him, Oilden’s “state-of-the-art” lubricant plant currently produces over 40,000 metric tonnes annually at full capacity, meeting 25 per cent of Nigeria’s industrial grease and lubricant demand.
The company projected that by 2028, capacity would increase to 60,000 metric tonnes, enabling it to capture 67 per cent of the domestic market while expanding across West and Central Africa.
On pricing, Oladiran said the company offers price and supply stability by shielding clients from foreign exchange volatility through robust local production and an integrated supply chain. He said, “Over the past 12 months, while competitors’ prices fluctuated by as much as 60 per cent, Oilden’s clients enjoyed stable pricing within a 30 per cent to 35 per cent band, ensuring uninterrupted operations and reliable budgeting.”
He added that Oilden serves diverse industries, including manufacturing, construction, transportation, marine, agriculture, power generation, sewage management, mining, steel production, petroleum, and engineering.
Stating the company’s product range he said, “Our range is engineered for performance and covers: Greases — from Extreme Pressure grades (EP0 to EP4) to Food Grade, High Temperature, Graphite, Bentonite-based, and synthetic lubricants; Crankcase (Engine) Oils — Berger HD and XHD ranges (SAE 30 to 15W-40) plus premium synthetic variants; Industrial Marine Oils — BergerXC R engine oils, BergerXH hydraulic oils, BergerX gear oils; Industrial Hydraulic Oils — Oilden Hydra series (ISO VG 32 to 1000, mineral and synthetic); Industrial Gear Oils — Oilden Gear XP range for heavy-duty applications; Industrial Compressor Oils — Oilden Compo range, including antifreeze and synthetic solutions.
“Beyond lubricants, our marine logistics services span both local and international waters with a fleet of dumb and ramp barges, PSVs, tugboats, and other specialised vessels. We also offer procurement services for the oil and gas sector, sourcing and delivering critical equipment and materials with precision,” he said.
He added that the company would unveil a new range of products in Lagos on Friday, assuring Nigerians of its readiness to serve them more. Looking ahead, he said the company had a clear promise to innovate relentlessly, expand strategically, and serve its clients with integrity, efficiency, and unmatched quality, having been in Nigeria for over three years.
