FirstBank, West Africa’s leading financial institution and champion of financial inclusion, is excited to announce the 2025 edition of its flagship event, the FirstBank Agric and Export Conference, themed “The Fundamentals of Building a Non-Oil Export-Driven Economy.” The conference is scheduled for Tuesday, August 19, 2025, at the Eko Convention Centre.

Building on the success of previous editions, this year’s conference reaffirms FirstBank’s unwavering commitment to supporting Nigeria’s agricultural and non-oil export sectors—key pillars for sustainable economic growth. The event aims to serve as a vital platform for stakeholders across the industry to discuss emerging trends, innovative solutions, and strategies to boost Nigeria’s non-oil exports.

This year’s conference will feature a hybrid format, allowing participants to join either in person or virtually. Attendees will have the opportunity to explore exhibition booths showcasing leading organizations and industry associations. The program includes a keynote speech, goodwill messages, plenary discussions—where expert speakers will delve into the theme—and technical sessions led by specialists in the agriculture and export value chain.

Notable speakers include the Honourable Minister of Agriculture & Food Security, Senator Abubakar Kyari, who will deliver the keynote address. The sessions will also feature insights from prominent industry figures such as Mr. Jafar Abubakar Umar, Managing Director of the Bank of Agriculture (BOA); Mr. Abba Bello, MD/CEO of Nigerian Export-Import Bank (NEXIM); Mr. Segun Awolowo of the National Action Committee on AfCFTA; Architect Kabir Ibrahim, President of the All Farmers Association of Nigeria; Mrs. Nonye Ayeni, CEO of the Nigerian Export Promotion Council (NEPC); and other distinguished experts. Their contributions aim to equip participants with practical knowledge and innovative ideas to enhance Nigeria’s position in the global agricultural and export sectors.

Commenting on the event, Olusegun Alebiosu, Managing Director of FirstBank Group, stated, “The FirstBank Agric and Export Conference provides a strategic platform for stakeholders to come together, share ideas, and develop strategies that can unlock Nigeria’s full potential in agriculture and non-oil exports. Through this gathering, we are empowering our customers and partners with actionable insights, innovative solutions, and meaningful connections to navigate the complexities of these sectors. Our ultimate goal is to deliver tangible benefits, foster business growth, and contribute to Nigeria’s economic diversification and development.”
