SolarCity Gas, an energy firm, has unveiled plans to deploy superfast electric vehicle (EV) chargers across Nigeria as the adoption of EVs gathers momentum in the country.
Okeowo Olasubomi, Managing Director/ Chief Executive Officer of Solarcity Gas, disclosed the move at the just-concluded GITEX show, where he announced that his firm will commission the first set of chargers in November 2025.
Olasubomi, whose firm trades internationally as AllTravell Energies LLC, said Solarcity Gas has partnered with leading petrol stations and “choice spots” nationwide to install the charging points. He stressed that the rollout was designed to meet the increasing demand for EV infrastructure.
Olasubomi said, “Electric vehicles are coming into Nigeria with great speed, hence it requires that the right infrastructures be put in place to get the country going.”
The CEO stated that only fast-charging technology would be deployed. “If the chargers are not superfast, we will not deploy them,” he stated, while also urging interested buyers to visit the company’s website for details on the available models.
