According to a statement, the Seaman’s Schnapps delegation, led by Gbemileke Lawal, Nigeria Distilleries Limited Marketing Manager, visited the monarch in Ibadan, Oyo State, an event Lawal said was in line with the brand’s tradition of honouring revered Yoruba kings.
Lawal said the visit underscored the brand’s deep cultural ties and recognition of the Olubadan stool as a “symbol of pride, strength, and continuity for the Yoruba people.”
He added, “On behalf of Nigeria Distilleries Limited, we felicitate with Your Majesty as you prepare to ascend the throne, and we pray that your reign brings peace, prosperity, and unity to Ibadanland.”
Nnenna Uche-Onyenacho, Senior Brand Manager for Seaman’s Schnapps, described the drink as Nigeria’s “Original No. 1 prayer drink and an iconic custodian of tradition.”
Uche-Onyenacho said, “Seaman’s Schnapps joins millions of well-wishers in praying for Your Majesty’s long life and successful reign as you prepare to mount the revered throne of Ibadan, Nigeria’s cultural capital in the southwest.”
Receiving the team, Oba Ladoja expressed gratitude for the gesture, saying, “I am deeply grateful for this visit and for your love. I pray that your team and your organisation continue to flourish and grow in strength.”
