Seaman’s Schnapps, an alcoholic drink brand in Nigeria, has reaffirmed its commitment to grassroots empowerment as a co-sponsor of the Nigerian Artisans and Technicians Conference (NATCO ) 2025, held in Ibadan, Oyo State.
Following a rigorous screening and interview process, the Seaman’s Schnapps team chose six winners across three categories: Tailoring/Fashion Design: Miss Sahad Mariam Omolara (18, Iseyin) and Mr Oduola Abdulsalam (25, Alesinloye, Ibadan North).
For bricklaying: Moshood Mubarak (16, Iddo LGA) and Abiodun Akinyemi (36, Oniyanrin, Ibadan North West); and for automobile/mechanics: Akeem Raji (37) and Kazeem Ismail (New Garage, Challenge, Ibadan)
Families and friends of the shortlisted artisans gathered in anticipation and excitement as the Seaman’s Schnapps team conducted the final selection process. The atmosphere was charged with hope and celebration, reflecting the deep impact of the empowerment initiative on the lives of everyday Nigerians.
NATCO 2025 brought artisans together from across Nigeria to foster collaborative impact through innovative training, enterprise development, and sector-wide empowerment. The conference attracted hundreds of tradesmen, technicians, apprentices, and aspiring professionals, alongside key stakeholders and government representatives, to celebrate skill, resilience, and innovation in Nigeria’s informal economy.
The event featured hands-on technical workshops, enterprise-focused sessions, and the presentation of empowerment packages to artisans across categories such as tailoring, bricklaying, electrical works, welding, solar technology, and shoemaking.
Miss Sahad Omolara, speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, expressed heartfelt gratitude while receiving her empowerment package from a distinguished lineup of dignitaries, including Oyo State Commissioner for Trade, Industry, Investment, and Cooperatives, Adebisi Adeniyi; Trade Marketing Manager, Ogunlana Doyinsola; Convener of NATCO, Mr Dayo Bello; and the Senior Brand Manager, Seaman’s Schnapps, Mrs Nnenna Uche-Onyenacho.
