BOVAS GMD Wins Female Petroleum Depot Owner of the Year at 2025 Petroleum Prize

Petroleumprice.ng has named Mrs. Samson Victoria, Managing Director of BOVAS Group, as Best Female Petroleum Depot Owner of the Year at the inaugural Petroleum Prize, Recognition and Awards 2025.

The recognition reflects her leadership and the operational performance of BOVAS Depot during a challenging year for Nigeria’s downstream petroleum market. The period was marked by pricing realignments, tighter competition, and shifting supply dynamics.

The decision drew from structured feedback provided by retail outlet owners and depot marketers, alongside independent industry assessment. Introduced in 2025, the Petroleum Prize combines stakeholder input with expert review. The focus remains on measurable impact, consistency, and market stability.

BOVAS Depot’s Performance Across Key Indicators

BOVAS Depot ranked strongly across five core indicators used to assess depot operations and leadership performance in 2025.

Operational Efficiency (88%):
Stakeholders highlighted improved truck turnaround times and better loading coordination. Structured dispatch processes reduced congestion and improved delivery planning for marketers.

Product Quality (85%):
Retailers reported that products loaded from BOVAS Depot met expected specifications. Quality-related disputes were limited, helping protect downstream credibility and engine performance.

Availability and Loading Arms Accuracy (90%):
BOVAS maintained steady product availability during periods of market tightness. Functional loading equipment supported accurate volumes, while fewer reconciliation disputes improved confidence among marketers.

Customer Service (82%):
Feedback pointed to clearer communication on loading schedules and quicker issue resolution. Better coordination with truck operators reduced friction during peak periods.

Compliance and Regulation (90%):
The depot maintained alignment with licensing, safety, and operational requirements. This reduced regulatory interruptions and strengthened confidence among supply partners.

Beyond depot operations, the award reflects Mrs. Samson Victoria’s broader leadership impact across the downstream sector.

In 2025, Kings University, Odeomu, Osun State, conferred the Entrepreneurship Ambassador Award on Dr. Mrs Victoria Adunola Samson. The honour recognised her entrepreneurial influence and business leadership.

She also received the Sustainable Leadership Award at the 2025 Oyo Youth Summit. The recognition cited her contributions to the oil and gas industry and her commitment to youth empowerment.

Operationally, BOVAS sustained depot activity at a time when several facilities scaled back. This helped maintain supply relevance amid intensified competition.

The company expanded into cleaner energy during the year. It commissioned two CNG stations in Ibadan in June 2025. BOVAS later opened the CNG Sobi Daughter Station in Ilorin, offering promotional discounts on vehicle conversions and LPG accessories between November and December.

In March 2025, BOVAS announced further growth across petroleum segments. These included additions to its lubricant product line, a state-of-the-art Aviation Turbine Kerosene facility, and an innovative trailer park designed to improve logistics efficiency and driver comfort.

The recognition of Mrs. Samson Victoria as Best Female Petroleum Depot Owner of the Year reinforces the Petroleum Prize’s focus on performance-based outcomes and broad industry participation. It positions BOVAS Depot as a reference point for operational discipline, innovation, and dependable supply in Nigeria’s evolving downstream petroleum market.
