16-Year-Old Saint Riman Wins ₦35 Million Scholarship At InterswitchSPAK 7.0 National Science Competition

Saint Riman, a 16-year-old student of Adedokun International Schools, Ota, Ogun State, has been crowned the overall champion of the seventh edition of the InterswitchSPAK National Science Competition, taking home a ₦15 million scholarship.

The competition, organised by Interswitch, Africa’s leading integrated payments and digital commerce company, concluded after months of rigorous nationwide assessments, problem-solving challenges, and competitive stages involving over 18,000 registered senior secondary school students.

According to Brandspur Brand News, the First Runner-Up position was claimed by David Okorie of Caleb International College, Magodo, Lagos State, who received a ₦10 million scholarship, while David Solomonezemma of Deeper Life High School, Enugu State, emerged as the Second Runner-Up, securing ₦5 million. In addition to their scholarships, all top three winners received brand-new laptops and other prizes to support their education.

Cherry Eromosele, Executive Vice President, Group Marketing and Communications at Interswitch, praised the winners for their discipline, resilience, and intellectual excellence. She said,“InterswitchSPAK was created to inspire and reward excellence in STEM education while equipping young Africans with the skills to tackle real-world challenges. These winners have demonstrated remarkable promise, and by supporting their education, we are reaffirming our belief in the power of young people to shape Africa’s future through innovation and science.”

Beyond the top prize winners, other finalists were also awarded laptops and cash prizes for their performance, while their teachers were recognised and rewarded for their role in nurturing talent. This approach reflects Interswitch’s commitment to sustainable educational development, fostering collaboration between students, educators, and institutions.

Now in its seventh year, InterswitchSPAK has grown into Nigeria’s largest STEM competition for senior secondary school students, serving as a key platform for discovering and empowering future scientists, engineers, technologists, and innovators.

The successful completion of InterswitchSPAK 7.0 highlights how strategic private sector investment in education can drive innovation, reward merit, and contribute to national development, preparing Nigerian students to compete confidently on the global stage.
