Access Bank Plc, in partnership with Fifth Chukker and UNICEF, hosts the 2025 edition of the Access Bank UK Charity Polo Day on Saturday, July 12 at the prestigious Guards Polo Club in Windsor, United Kingdom. The annual event blends elegance with philanthropy to raise vital funds for inclusive education initiatives across Nigeria.
Now in its second decade, the Charity Polo Day has become a symbol of Access Bank’s deep-rooted commitment to community development. Through this initiative, the Bank has helped build and equip several classroom blocks in Kaduna State, transforming the lives of over 14,000 children by expanding their access to quality education and learning opportunities.
Aigboje Aig-Imoukhuede, Chairman of Access Holdings, described the event as “a platform that unites global changemakers around one common cause: investing in the future of Africa through education.” He praised the enduring partnership with Fifth Chukker and UNICEF as both symbolic and transformative.
The 2025 edition will welcome an exclusive gathering of philanthropists, diplomats, and industry leaders, who will enjoy a world-class polo tournament while witnessing the tangible impact their contributions are making in underserved communities.
In collaboration with UNICEF, the proceeds from the event fund the construction of additional classroom blocks, the improvement of school facilities, and long-term educational support for children in rural Nigeria.
Roosevelt Ogbonna, Group Managing Director of Access Bank, emphasized the bank’s purpose-driven mission: “At Access Bank, we believe education is a fundamental right. By aligning our brand with purpose, we are proving that financial performance and social impact can – and must – go hand in hand.”
Jamie Simmonds, Managing Director and CEO of Access Bank UK, highlighted the global significance of the initiative: “This event reflects the heart of Access Bank UK’s vision – serving as a bridge between continents and connecting purpose with prosperity. Supporting education across Africa ensures we build a more inclusive, sustainable future for all.”
The Access Bank UK Charity Polo Day continues to stand as a shining example of how corporate leadership, cross-border partnerships, and collective empathy can drive impactful, long-lasting change — from Kaduna to Windsor, and across the world.
