Chappal Energies Backs Green Falcons’ World Cup Quest

Chappal Energies has reaffirmed its dedication to promoting opportunity, empowerment, and national pride through its sponsorship of Nigeria’s Women’s Rugby League Team, the Green Falcons, as they head to Canada for the 2025 Rugby League World Series.

In a statement, the competition marks a historic moment for the team, as Nigeria could become the first African nation ever to qualify for the Women’s Rugby League World Cup. The World Series features four countries, Nigeria, Canada, Ireland, and Fiji, battling for the final qualification slot for the 2026 Women’s Rugby League World Cup in Australia and Papua New Guinea.

Ufoma Immanuel, Managing Director of Chappal Energies, said the partnership with the Green Falcons reflects the company’s values and long-standing commitment to nurturing potential and creating opportunities.

Immanuel said, “Supporting the Green Falcons goes to the heart of what we stand for at Chappal Energies. Belief, perseverance, and possibility are qualities we hold dear. We are committed to creating opportunities that help unlock that potential. Our Falcons represent the resilience, courage, and ambition that drive progress in our communities and our country. We are proud to stand with them as they make history for Nigeria and for Africa.”

Abiodun Cole, Chairman of the Nigerian Rugby League, described the team’s participation as a defining moment for women’s sports in Nigeria and Africa, praising Chappal Energies for its timely support.

Cole said, “This moment means everything to us. We carry the hopes of a nation, of every girl who has ever been told she couldn’t. Chappal’s support reminds us that we are not alone and that Nigeria believes in us.”

Chappal Energies noted that its sponsorship of the Green Falcons aligns with its broader social investment and community impact strategy focused on empowerment, inclusion, and local capacity development. The company said it continues to expand initiatives that promote education, sports, and leadership among Nigerian youth.
