In a bold move to revolutionise Nigeria’s fuel supply landscape, Dangote Petroleum Refinery has announced the launch of its nationwide distribution of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) and Automotive Gas Oil (diesel), set to commence on August 15, 2025.
This initiative comes as part of the company’s commitment to ensuring affordable energy access and making fuel delivery smoother and faster, and supporting national economic development. As fuel scarcity concerns rise, Dangote Refinery is implementing a strategic logistics initiative aimed at reaching every corner of Nigeria.
In its statement yesterday, the company stated: “To support the rollout, the company is deploying 4,000 brand-new Compressed Natural Gas (CNG)-powered tankers and establishing a network of CNG booster stations nationwide. An additional fleet of over 100 CNG-powered gas tankers will facilitate continuous supply, ensuring consistent delivery to marketers, station dealers, manufacturers, aviation firms, telecom operators, and other major users.
“Our goal is to redefine the downstream oil sector. This initiative goes beyond fuel delivery; it’s about reducing inflationary pressure, reactivating dormant petrol stations, and ensuring that every Nigerian, no matter their location, has access to affordable and reliable energy,” the company said.
“Under the new distribution model, fuel buyers will enjoy free product delivery, helping to eliminate transport costs that often inflate pump prices. In addition, Dangote Refinery is offering a credit scheme to buyers purchasing a minimum of 500,000 litres. These buyers can access an additional 500,000 litres on credit for two weeks with a valid bank guarantee”.
It added: “Registration for interested marketers and industry players will run from June 16 to August 15, 2025, including a Know Your Customer (KYC) verification process”.
The company emphasised that this programme aligns with the Renewed Hope Agenda of His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, reinforcing private-sector support for economic growth, job creation, and rural development.
