Fidelity Bank Launches HAP 2.0 to Empower Women Entrepreneurs

Fidelity Bank Plc, a leading financial institution, has announced the launch of the second edition of its flagship women’s empowerment programme, the HerFidelity Apprenticeship Programme 2.0 (HAP 2.0).

The initiative aims to equip women with practical, income-generating skills and structured pathways to entrepreneurship. Building on the success of its first edition in 2023, HAP 2.0 seeks to create even greater impact.

During a media briefing to unveil HAP 2.0, Osita Ede, Divisional Head of Product Development at Fidelity Bank Plc, explained that the programme has been enhanced to deliver more meaningful results.

“HerFidelity Apprenticeship Programme 2.0 reflects our commitment to continuous improvement. Having evaluated feedback from the first edition, we have returned with stronger partnerships and deeper mentorship programmes to ensure that women acquire not just skills, but sustainable economic opportunities,” he said.

He added, “At the heart of the programme is guided, real-world learning. Participants will undergo intensive apprenticeship training under reputable institutions and industry experts across select fields such as hair styling, shoe making, auto mechatronics, and interior decoration.”

Ede further noted that HAP 2.0 offers more than skills development, providing participants with comprehensive business advisory services. These include training in business and financial literacy, mentorship support throughout the apprenticeship, access to Fidelity Bank’s women-focused and SME financial solutions, and guidance on formalising and growing their businesses.

Emphasising the bank’s vision, Ede stated, “By integrating structured mentorship with entrepreneurial development, Fidelity Bank is positioning women not just as trainees, but as future employers, innovators, and economic contributors within their communities. This aligns with our mandate to help individuals grow, businesses thrive, and economies prosper.”
