FinTribe, a wealth-tech company dedicated to empowering women, has unveiled its expansion plans as it evolves from a small passion project into a structured financial platform backed by a dedicated team, advisory board, and strategic partners.
Jennifer Awirigwe, the founder of FinTribe, who spoke at the sidelines of Hustle Africa’s bi-monthly PR Tea Conference in Ikeja, Lagos, mentioned that the firm is closing the financial literacy gap among women by ensuring they not only acquire knowledge but also own assets, start businesses, and build legacies.
FinTribe also supports its customers, employees, and partners by providing knowledge, access, accountability, and co-creating campaigns that bring financial services closer to women.
FinTribe explained its social responsibility efforts, saying:
“As part of our social responsibility, FinTribe runs empowerment programmes for female university students, equipping them with resources schools often overlook, like practical financial education. Through free training, books, mentorship, and seed funding to kickstart their savings and investments, we help young women build confidence with money early on. The goal is simple but powerful; catch them young, break the cycle of financial illiteracy, and empower the next generation of women to grow wealth, not just earn income.”
One of the company’s biggest challenges was scaling its platform fast enough to meet growing demand. Originally built for 800 users, it now serves over 15,000. To meet this demand, FinTribe upgraded its infrastructure, expanded its team, and established an advisory board.
FinTribe plans to expand to Ghana and Uganda in the short term and form strategic partnerships with organisations and governments to reach and train more women. Its long-term target is to achieve $20 million in assets under management by 2030, driven entirely by women.
