Chinese automaker Jetour has officially appointed W Motors as its authorised distributor in Nigeria, marking a strategic move to strengthen its presence in Africa’s largest vehicle market.
The partnership aims to combine Jetour’s expanding global portfolio with W Motors’ deep understanding of local market dynamics. The collaboration will focus on adapting vehicles to Nigerian road conditions while establishing a robust distribution and after-sales support network.
The announcement was made in Lagos during the launch of the Jetour G700 at W Motors’ flagship showroom. The luxury hybrid all-terrain SUV boasts a 2.0-litre turbocharged engine paired with dual electric motors, producing a combined 904 horsepower and 1,135 Nm of torque. The vehicle accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.6 seconds and offers a driving range of 800 to 1,000 kilometres. Its off-road capabilities include seven intelligent driving modes and a 900mm wading depth, making it suitable for Nigeria’s diverse terrains.
Jetour International Vice President, Yuan Anguo, described Nigeria as a key market for the company’s African expansion plans. He highlighted that Jetour’s global research and development operations enable the brand to respond swiftly to regional demands and confirmed that a pickup model is being considered for the Nigerian market.
W Motors CEO, Wadih Nasrallah, emphasised that customer confidence will hinge on consistent after-sales service, including spare parts availability and service infrastructure, rather than branding alone. He also noted that the Jetour G700 comes with a seven-year unlimited mileage warranty—the first of its kind in Africa.
Other Jetour models set to be distributed by W Motors include the Jetour T1, T2, and X90 Plus, further broadening the company’s offerings to Nigerian consumers.
