Lagos’ leading smart mobility platform, Lagride, has unveiled the Omni, a budget-friendly, air-conditioned shared-ride solution aimed at revolutionizing group transport for offices, churches, schools, and community events. This innovative service marks a significant step toward modernizing Lagos’s transportation landscape, providing a safer, cleaner, and more coordinated alternative to the traditional Korope minibuses.
Designed for comfort and efficiency, the Lagride Omni offers spacious, air-conditioned vehicles that connect groups directly without stops, ensuring a smooth and private journey. Early user interest indicates strong demand, especially among individuals seeking affordable rides with added comfort. Customers can book the Omni via the Lagride app or WhatsApp, enjoying the convenience of direct, door-to-door service at competitive prices.
At the launch event, Lagride Chairman Chief Diana Chen emphasized the role of the Omni in democratizing mobility. “Mobility fuels opportunity,” she stated. “By making modern transport accessible and affordable, Lagride aims to foster a more connected Lagos where movement enhances community and growth.”
Each Omni vehicle is GPS-enabled, operated by trained drivers certified through the Lagride Academy, and capable of accommodating up to six passengers. The service is tailored to meet Lagosians’ needs for fast, reliable, and community-oriented transportation, whether for daily commutes, group outings, or special events.
Lagride’s Acting Managing Director, Mr. Jubril Arogundade, explained that the service is designed to facilitate collective movement efficiently. “One booking can bring friends, colleagues, or congregation members together for a safe and comfortable ride,” he said. “This is Lagos moving smarter, faster, and more inclusively.”
The Omni service supports organized groups by offering flexible route coordination, corporate billing, prepaid options, and cashless payments, making it suitable for various users and occasions.
Additionally, Lagride plans to recruit 1,000 new manual drivers for the Omni fleet, providing comprehensive training and certification in partnership with Lagos State Government, LASTMA, and other safety stakeholders. This initiative not only introduces innovative transport solutions but also empowers local drivers by creating sustainable income opportunities.
