The Lagos Public Relations Industry Gala and Awards (LAPRIGA) has begun receiving entries for its 2025 edition, with the submission deadline rapidly approaching.
However, the LAPRIGA Selection Committee has noted a concerning gap in participation across seven award categories, with only single submissions received in some. The committee is urging practitioners, agencies, and organizations within the Lagos PR community to seize this opportunity and ensure robust representation in all categories.
Dr. Kehinde Oyesomi, Secretary of the Selection Committee, emphasized the need for greater participation. “While interest has been expressed in 14 categories, we have received no entries in seven of them,” she stated. “Our analysis has identified promising initiatives in those areas—projects that are deserving of recognition. We encourage professionals not to overlook these opportunities. Submit your work—you might just be the winner.”
The categories with no submissions so far include:
– Public Sector Strategic Communication Leadership Award (for Appointed Public Officers)
– PR Trainer of the Year (Professional Development Award)
– PR Educator of the Year
– Model Agency of the Year
– Public Sector PR Campaign of the Year
– Public Sector Communication Professional of the Year
– Evergreen/Lifetime Achievement Award
Dr. Samuel Ayetutu, Chairman of Lagos NIPR, expressed confidence that most submissions tend to arrive in the final days, urging interested parties to act quickly as there may be no extension beyond the deadline.
The call for entries closes on November 28, 2025. The awards ceremony is scheduled for December 12, 2025.
