Promasidor Nigeria, a top player in the consumer goods industry, has reaffirmed its dedication to education and youth empowerment through its flagship career guidance program, Harness Your Dream. Recently held in Lagos, the event brought together educators, government officials, and industry leaders for a day of mentorship, motivation, and meaningful interaction aimed at helping junior secondary school students make informed career choices.
Representing Lagos State’s First Lady, Dr. (Mrs.) Claudiana Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, Mrs. Anike Adekanye, former Tutor-General and Permanent Secretary of Education District II, praised Promasidor for sustaining a transformative initiative aligned with the Lagos State Government’s vision for youth development and educational excellence.
“This initiative perfectly aligns with Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s vision of education, empowerment, and a brighter future for every child in Lagos,” Mrs. Adekanye stated. “Success begins with a dream, but it is nurtured through discipline, hard work, and strong values. Today’s mentorship session is about helping you discover your purpose, understand who you are, and believe in your potential, regardless of your background.”
She encouraged students to stay focused and committed to ongoing learning, emphasizing that “the choices you make today are the seeds for the future you will reap tomorrow.”
CEO of Promasidor Nigeria, Mr. François Gillet, highlighted the company’s belief in education as a key driver of social and economic progress.
“Promasidor is committed to supporting our communities beyond our products,” he said. “Through Harness Your Dream, we aim to help young people gain clarity and confidence as they pursue careers aligned with their passions.”
Mr. Gillet also noted that Promasidor’s impact extends beyond its brands to various educational and agricultural empowerment initiatives like Cowbellpedia and Ikun Milk Day.

Dr. Chinenyem Obasi-Obonga, Head of Regulatory and Government Affairs at Promasidor Nigeria, emphasized the initiative’s alignment with global and local educational goals.

Otunba Adebayo Olasoju, Chairman of Isolo Local Council Development Area, also shared his personal growth story with students, urging them not to let their circumstances limit their aspirations. He emphasized that no dream is too big or too small to achieve.
The event was highly interactive, with students actively engaging with facilitators who shared personal stories about perseverance, purpose, and ambition. Promasidor senior executives,including Mr. Olabisi Ajeyomi, Mrs. Arike Nwachukwu, and Mr. Chukwunonso Udeh, offered career mentoring and counseling, encouraging students to keep the big picture in mind as they plan their futures.
External facilitators, Dr. Nimi Ekere and Dr. Adaora Obiagwu, also contributed to the mentoring sessions, providing insights from the perspectives of health and community development.
Additionally, the event featured quizzes and educational games, with many students earning prizes for their enthusiasm and quick thinking.
