SoftAlliance and Resources Limited, a technology company, has donated N20 million in infrastructure to St. Patrick’s Catholic Primary School, in Ibadan, Oyo State.
The donation was made in honour of the company’s Managing Director, Dr Bisi Aina, as part of the celebration of his 60th birthday, which coincided with SoftAlliance’s 20th anniversary.
Dr Aina, a 1977 alumnus of St. Patrick’s Catholic Primary School decided to give back to the community as part of the company’s corporate social responsibility initiatives.
The donation, which aims to improve hygiene and security for students and staff, includes four (4) renovated restrooms and fencing for the school.
The donation makes it possible for Dr. Aina to give back to the school that laid the foundation for his education. “After visiting St. Patrick’s and seeing the poor condition of the facilities, I knew I had to do something,” Aina added.
In a statement by Dr Aina,
he said, “The compound had become a haven for miscreants and community nuisances who used the school for nefarious activities, posing a real threat to both staff and students.”
He noted that this situation could no longer be ignored, and that action was needed to protect the school’s environment.
In addition to the infrastructure donation, cash awards were presented to 42 individuals, including 15 top-performing pupils in primaries 1–5 and 12 teachers.
He emphasised that this project aligned with SoftAlliance’s broader commitment to supporting educational institutions across Nigeria.
Aina also launched his new book, ‘JAPA Chronicles, A Guide for Those Considering Relocation’ at the ceremony.
The book offers practical advice, emotional support, and strategic insights, drawing on his own experience of moving from Nigeria in 1998.
