Sunbeth Shines At SERAS 2025, Clinches Award For Impactful Sustainability Leadership

Sunbeth Global Concepts has been recognised at the SERAS Africa Sustainability Awards 2025, winning the prestigious “Best New Entry” accolade for its impactful contributions to sustainable agriculture, ethical business practices, and community development across Nigeria’s agricultural value chain.

The recognition comes at a significant moment for the company, following the publication of its 2023/2024 Impact Report, which provides a transparent account of Sunbeth’s social, environmental, and economic interventions. The report highlights the company’s support for the cultivation of approximately 15,000 hectares through improved agronomic and soil-health practices, alongside the distribution of 60,000 improved cocoa seedlings to origin producers to boost yields, enhance food security, and strengthen long-term farm sustainability.

Among the initiatives celebrated through this award is Sunbeth’s cocoa seedling distribution programme, which has supported over 1,500 farmers across 55 communities in Ondo State with improved seedlings and technical training to rejuvenate ageing plantations. Together, these programmes reinforce the company’s commitment to strengthening farmer capacity, improving value-chain transparency, and enabling long-term agricultural transformation.

Winning the “Best New Entry” award significantly strengthens Sunbeth’s credibility across the sustainability landscape, enhancing its standing with industry leaders, development partners, investors, policy networks, and current and prospective clients. The recognition affirms that the company’s community interventions, internal workplace practices, environmental responsibility efforts, and governance structures are being acknowledged and celebrated across Africa.

At SERAS 2025, Sunbeth was represented by key members of its leadership and sustainability teams, including its Sustainability Manager, Head of Legal, Deputy COO, HR, HSE, and Communications & Corporate Affairs representatives. Their presence underscored the organisation-wide commitment to sustainability, responsible governance, and ethical business leadership.

Reflecting on the recognition, Abdussamad Abdurrahman, Manager, Corporate Affairs & Communications, described the award as a testament to Sunbeth’s intentional investments in People, Planet, and Prosperity. “This honour celebrates the tangible impact of our work from empowering farmers and investing in rural communities to strengthening value-chain sustainability and advancing responsible business practices. We are proud to see our efforts recognised at a continental level and remain committed to deepening our contributions to agricultural development across Africa.”

Sunbeth remains focused on expanding its sustainability footprint through ethical, inclusive, and community-centered initiatives that continue to transform livelihoods, strengthen agricultural ecosystems, and contribute to Africa’s long-term prosperity.

The recognition at SERAS Africa Sustainability Awards 2025 further cements Sunbeth’s position as a leading logistics and agro-trade partner committed to responsible business practices and measurable impact.
