SystemSpecs To Begin Essay Competition

SystemSpecs, a software firm, has disclosed plans to commence its 2025 Children’s Day Essay Competition in February with the aim of providing a platform for creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills through technology.

In a statement by the firm, it said the annual event was for young Nigerians aged 9 to 16.

Bukola Adeoye, the company’s Executive Director of Corporate Services, stated that the competition is part of SystemSpecs’ efforts to promote technological literacy and innovation among youths.

Adeoye said the essay has been run for five years, and it aligns with SystemSpecs’ commitment to fostering technological awareness and nurturing local talent.

Adeoye said: “The competition aims to nurture local talent and equip the next generation of leaders with the skills necessary to thrive in Nigeria’s digital economy.”

She explained that Nigeria’s competitive edge in the global economy depends on equipping its youth with essential technological skills, adding “For Nigeria to compete effectively on a global scale, the next generation must be equipped with the requisite technological skills from an early stage.

“Over the past five years, we have been dedicated to promoting technological awareness nationwide, highlighting the significance of initiatives like this in shaping Nigeria’s digital future through the CDEC.”

SystemSpecs noted that in over 30 years in the ICT sector, it has invested in initiatives to build a sustainable tech environment.

Adeoye further added: “The competition, which has become increasingly competitive, is expected to attract participants from all 36 states and the FCT.

“It’s a unique opportunity for students to explore technology and develop essential skills that will empower them for the future.”

The firm praised the competition as recognised and inspiring to thousands of young Nigerians, with more participation from female students.
