Tranos Launches New Production Facility in Ogun State

Tranos, an engineering and manufacturing firm has commenced the construction of a production facility in Mowe, Ogun State, which it says reinforces its commitment to Africa’s industrial growth and Nigeria’s energy and infrastructure ambitions.

Jude Abalaka, Chief Executive Officer, Tranos, described the groundbreaking as a major step towards industrial innovation on the continent. He said, “Today’s groundbreaking is more than a construction milestone; it is an investment in Africa’s industrial future.”

The new facility, spanning over 15.7 hectares (157,440 sqm), will consolidate all of Tranos’ manufacturing activities on one campus, ranging from raw-material processing and cable systems to Research & Development, while fostering innovation, collaboration, and productivity.

According to Tranos, the complex will house an 800 MW-per-year solar photovoltaic panel production line, an expanded gas generator assembly plant, cable management systems manufacturing, and advanced power distribution panel production.

This innovation will also increase the firm’s output of gaskets, enclosures, and warehouse racking systems. Abalaka noted that the Mowe factory will scale up Tranos’ capacity, “create jobs, and deliver solutions aligned with Nigeria’s energy and infrastructure ambitions.”

According to the firm, the first phase of the development includes a modern production floor and corporate offices designed to meet global standards. It will incorporate automation, Industry 4.0 features, ergonomic workspaces, natural lighting, and advanced ventilation systems to ensure employee well-being and operational efficiency.

In addition, the factory would not only preserve current jobs but also create hundreds of new roles, including engineers, technicians, and administrative personnel.
