WISDOM KWATI SMART CITY: REDEFINING SUSTAINABLE URBAN LIVING ACROSS AFRICA.

MR WISDOM KWATI, MD/CEO WISDOM KWATI SMART CITY.

As African cities face the dual challenges of rapid urbanisation and environmental concerns, Nigerian real estate company Wisdom Kwati Smart City is at the forefront of addressing these issues. By integrating sustainable technologies into property development, the company is redefining urban living across the continent.

Traditional real estate methods often fail to meet the environmental and technological demands of modern times. Wisdom Kwati Smart City bridges this gap with an innovative approach that prioritises eco-friendly and tech-driven solutions. Their mission is clear: to deliver properties that blend comfort with environmental responsibility. Chairman Wisdom Kwati explains, “Our goal is to create spaces that do more than provide a place to live. We’re developing communities that make daily life easier, healthier, and more connected to nature.”

The company’s projects utilise green construction techniques, incorporating energy-efficient systems and water conservation practices to minimise environmental impact. Developments in Abuja—particularly in Karshi, Karsana, Idu, and Sangere, Yola—exemplify this commitment. Residents benefit from smart energy management systems that enhance efficiency while reducing costs and carbon footprints.

Zara Kwati, Managing Director of Wisdom Kwati Smart City, has been instrumental in shaping its sustainable approach. Her expertise in sustainable urban design underpins the company’s focus on integrating data-driven solutions, enabling residents to track energy consumption and adopt cost-effective practices. “We want people to enjoy luxury without compromising sustainability,” she says. “Every decision we make ensures that our developments contribute positively to the environment.”

Isaiah Bulus, the Chief Corporate Services Officer, complements this vision with an ethical approach to real estate. He emphasises the importance of trust in their operations, stating, “Our focus is on delivering tangible benefits that residents experience daily, ensuring they see the value of our promises in their lived environment.”

Wisdom Kwati Smart City’s projects set a higher standard for African real estate, offering solar energy solutions, advanced air quality monitoring, waste recycling systems, and smart home technologies. These features promote sustainable living while maintaining modern comfort and convenience.

The company’s ambitions extend beyond Nigeria, with plans to expand into Sierra Leone, Ghana, and Kenya. By 2034, they aim to establish at least two developments in each of these countries, adapting to local needs and regulations. CEO Gona Shelan highlights their commitment to tailoring solutions for each market, stating, “We’re not just exporting a blueprint; we’re learning from each market and adapting our methods to meet the unique demands of each community.”

The company has already made significant progress in Sierra Leone, where its first project is set to launch in 2025. Gona Shelan adds, “We’re committed to ensuring each new community meets our high standards of efficiency and sustainability, even if that requires adapting our methods to local realities.”
