EbonyLife’s ‘Blood Sisters’ Renewed for Season 2 on Netflix

The Executive producer of Blood Sisters, Mo Abudu has officially announced a second season of Netflix Original Series Blood Sisters.

According to the Instagram Post, the series produced by EbonyLife studios and co-led by Nancy Isime and Ini Dima Okojie will get another opportunity to grace the screens.

Mo Abudu expressed her excitement about the continuation of the Blood Sisters saga. She revealed the second season has undergone 18 months of development, including a table read. Filming begins in a few weeks.

Created by Ted Makanjuola, viewers can expect returning cast members such as Ini Dima-Okojie, Nancy Isime, Kate Henshaw, Uche Jombo, Daniel Etim Effiong, Kehinde Bankole, Gabriel Afolayan, Segun Arinze, Patrick Doyle, and Genoveva Umeh.

Michelle Dede, Ifeanyi Kalu, Ben Touitou, Anita ‘Warri Pikin’ Asuoha, Blessing Jessica Obasi, Fadekemi Olumide, Bolaji Ogunmola and Mike Afolarin will join the series in undisclosed roles.

Season two will also see Daniel Oriahi (Sylvia, The Weekend) join Kayode Kasum (Far From Home) as co-director with the script penned by Craig Freimond, Zeli Zulu (A Soweto Love Story) and Adze Ugah (Isibaya, 10 Days in Suncity).

The first season, directed by the late Biyi Bandele and Kenneth Gyang, introduced us to Sarah and Kemi; two friends whose lives spiralled into chaos after a botched wedding, a murder, and a desperate attempt to escape the consequences.

According to the announcement, “Season 2 promises twists, turns and edge-of-your-seat drama”. Blood Sisters Season 1 ended with a warehouse showdown amongst the key characters and Genoveva Umeh’s unstable Timeyin pointing a gun to her mother’s head.

Blood Sisters season 2 will return on Netflix, though the official release date remains undisclosed.

EbonyLife, a recurring partner of Netflix in Nigeria, also has a series called Baby Farm, featuring Rita Dominic, Joseph Benjamin, and Onyinye Odokoro, which is coming soon to Netflix.
